The Centre for Education Research & Innovation (CERI) is pleased to announce that it has just been awarded its third operating grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Co-principal investigators on the grant are Dr. Lorelei Lingard, CERI Director and Senior Scientist, Professor, Department of Medicine and Adjunct Professor, Department of Family Medicine and Dr. Stella Ng. Dr. Ng completed her postdoctoral fellowship at CERI in June 2013, and begun a faculty position in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto as Director of Research, Centre for Faculty Development, Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, St. Michael's Hospital and Education Scientist, Centre for Ambulatory Care Education, Women's College Hospital.
Drs. Lingard and Ng, along with their co-investigators, Drs. Kathryn Hibbert, Shanon Phelan, and Sandra Regan, will receive $134,404 over two years. This funding will support research on the translation and integration of health professional knowledge and practice beyond traditional sites of healthcare, specifically in the context of school-based health support for children with disabilities and chronic health conditions. The investigators will work closely with a team of clinical and research collaborators, including Drs. Margaret Steele and Rosamund Stooke of Western, as well as a community and policy advisory committee.
